Our Belief
By faith we believe that the Bible, consisting of 66 books, is the Eternal Word of God. It was spoken by God to man through the working of the Holy Spirit and is the only, absolute rule for faith and practice in a Christian’s life. It is without error, as it was originally given, and only truly understood with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
(Matt. 24:35; Ps. 119:89; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 1 Cor. 2:7-14; Luke 24:44; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; Matt. 5:17-20)
By faith we believe that there is one living and true God, who created and sustains all things. He is eternal in His existence and perfect in His being. He exists in three persons, each the same in being and worthy of equal worship but different in form. God the Father orders and sets all things to His Own will. He is spirit. Through Him all things consist.
(Deut. 6:4; Is. 44:6-8; 1 Tim. 6:15; Ex. 3:13; Is. 6:3; Matt. 3:16-17; Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 17:24-29; 1 Cor. 8:6; Rev. 19:10; Deut. 24:29; Deut. 5:29; Col. 1:17; Heb. 1:17; John 4:24)
By faith we believe that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is the second person of the Trinity. He is and has always been the physical form of God. By His virgin birth, He took His form flesh, and became a man (totally God/totally man). He died a voluntary, substitutionary death on the cross to save man from his sin. He raised literally from the dead and ascended back to Heaven. He is the Head of the Church, the Mediator of Man and the Judge of the Earth who will return for His Church.
(John 10:29-30; Phil. 2:5-8; Col. 2:9; Is. 4:7; Is. 9:6; Matt. 1:23; Rom. 3:25; Rom. 5:8; Matt. 16:21; Luke 24:37-39; John 20:17; Eph. 1:22; Heb. 7:25; 1 Tim. 2:5; 2 Cor. 5:10; 2 Thes. 2:8)
By faith we believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is a real being, who moves God’s will upon the Earth. He is completely God in an individual, spiritual form. Before the Church, He came upon people to act for God. During the Church, He indwells every believer. He empowers these believers with special gifts given at His discretion, for the building up of the Church.
(Matt. 28:19; John 14:16, Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 3:16-17; Rom. 12; 1 Cor. 12; Eph. 4; 1 Peter 4)
We believe by faith that man was an instant creation of God, as all creation was spoken into existence. He was created in the likeness of His Creator (body, soul and spirit). He was created with a mind and will, and thereby responsible for his decisions and sins. He was also born with a sin nature therefore making him a sinner. Because man is a sinner and sins, man is guilty and will spiritually and physically die spending eternity separated from God in a place called Hell unless he recognizes his need for the Savio.
(Gen. 1:25-27; 1 Thes. 5:23; Heb. 4:12; Gen. 3:1-19; Rom. 5:12; John 8:38-44; Rom. 3:23; Is. 53:6)
We believe by faith that man needs a savior, Jesus Christ being that Savior. This salvation is a free gift with no contribution of human merit or works. Salvation is our response to God’s initiative. It is faith in the Biblical facts of Jesus Christ, our condition, and God’s work, accomplished by the Holy Spirit, which allows a sinner to be changed and Heaven bound.
(John 1:12; Eph. 1:7; 1 Peter 2:24; Eph. 2:18-19; Rom. 9:10-13; 2 Peter 1:4; John 5:24)
